2026 Snohomish Open
The scorecards made it home from Snohomish, and they told a familiar story with a new twist. Chris Clogston posted 77 for low gross — his sixth gross title in seven starts, a season that has stopped being a race and started being a procession. Jon Hayenga's 80 took second, again, the league's most faithful pursuer refusing to let the gap become a canyon. But the day's real headline was the man in third: Gray Griswold went 82 gross, then kept collecting silverware everywhere else on the board.
The net crown split two ways at 71: Cam Kashfia, going back-to-back after his 70 at Echo Falls — the Green Jacket math loves this man — and Griswold, who thereby completed the rare Snohomish treble: third in gross, a share of first in net, and the team title alongside Warren Berger, whose own net 72 took third outright. Their two-man best ball of 61 won by two over a three-way pileup at 63 — Tanor Johnson & Kashfia, Hayenga & Alvis, and Colleran & Hufford all a card-flip short. Berger's handicap, as ever, doing the Lord's work.
The margins of the day: Jerry Nakata pulled double duty on the team sheet — twenty-seven players makes an odd number, and somebody honest has to play the extra ball. Bill Morgan gave the field a 108 and cashed $200,000 for it anyway, because in this league even the hard days pay. And the pins: Hayenga stuck the 13th to 4' 2" for the shot of the afternoon, with Mahaffey, Matt Uhlar and Tanor Johnson claiming the other three flags at ten bucks apiece. Twenty-seven players, fourteen teams, every score below.
